Thomas, a Syntaxis Partner and Origination Committee member, is a founder of the firm. He heads the Vienna office, where he is responsible for investments throughout the region other than in Poland. Thomas shares the investor relations and fundraising activities across the German speaking countries. He has also helped the firm develop its expertise in the pharmaceutical and cable television sectors. At Syntaxis he has led SMF I’s investment in Labor Med and Izzi, and serves on the Supervisory Board of Izzi.
Prior to co-founding Syntaxis, Thomas was an Investment Director of Mezzanine Management where he joined the team in the Vienna office in October 2003. He increasingly took responsibility for Mezzanine Management’s investment activities in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia and Slovenia, including marketing and origination and all aspects of the investment process from due diligence to documentation and investment monitoring.
Prior to Mezzanine Management, Thomas worked in the Leveraged Finance team of Lehman Brothers International in London, joining as an Analyst in 2000. Thomas studied in Frankfurt and New York and holds a master's degree from Frankfurt University in finance and accounting.
